Struggling with Chronic Symptoms

By Cheryl Lombardi,
Craniosacral Therapist
Am I going crazy? What are the doctors missing?

Do you suffer with symptoms that match up with 8 or 10 possible conditions you have found on the internet?

Do people say how great you look, and yet you wonder how you will get through the day?

Do your test results turn out perfect, proving you SHOULD feel wonderful?

Is it menopause? How long can we blame our symptoms on being female?

Have you tried countless special healing diets? ("Excuse me, may I see another menu? There doesn't seem to be anything on this menu I can eat.")

Do you feel like you cannot burden your family and friends with continued talk about your health issues?

I am here to tell you that I can relate to these struggles! I have been looking for answers for years to nagging body symptoms that I know are real and trying to tell me something. I can't offer any miracle cures or know what is best for you, but I can offer you support in your efforts to be well and feel well. Struggle and hope go hand in hand.

Here's a few things I have learned along the way:

Follow your intuition:  Learn to feel in your body when something is right or wrong, even the probability or possibility of what someone is proposing to you.

Keep your eyes and ears open:  We are always being given information that can further our understanding and knowledge. It can come from an outside source such as a friend, or from the inside Source as an awareness that arises during your quiet time alone.

Dreams: Many ideas are initiated in our dreams. Through introspection you can discover information offered to you from your subconscious in the symbols of your dreams.

Pay attention to the obvious:  Notice the time of day you feel better or worse. Notice if certain foods or the timing of meals make a difference. Notice whether your environment affects your energy level, including your encounters with specific people and situations.

Laugh and enjoy your friends and family.  Joy remains the greatest medicine of all.

As a Craniosacral Therapist, I have learned patience. While being proactive in your healing process is important, it is equally important to observe the information offered to you from all sources. I was attracted to the complimentary field of holistic health because of my strong belief in self healing. Craniosacral therapy is based on the innate wisdom of the body and its ability to heal itself.

I hope that sharing my own healing journey has been an encouragement to you in your journey. I am still searching, dancing between Hope and Despair. But as I focus on everything I am grateful for and acceptance for "what is", I experience the Joy of life.
