Like clockwork, it happens; January 1st arrives and people
across the US embark on yet another frantic attempt to change their
bodies. Panting away aimlessly on a treadmill, or embracing the
latest 'fitness craze' while cutting calories dangerously below
maintenance levels for even a gnat becomes an all too common
occurrence. Most fitness resolutions will inevitably fall by the
wayside by the 31st day of the month. How do I know this?
Predictably, it happens every year.
More is not necessarily better. There
needs to be balance in regards to implementing an exercise program
which will yield optimal results. The weight didn't come on
overnight. Consistent and strategic effort is needed to take it off.
However, take heart; there is an effective approach to getting fit
and healthy. We love to share our knowledge with you at the Body
Works Studio, so listen up!
I was a 'seasoned exerciser'
myself for more than 17 years before becoming a fitness
professional. I wish I knew then what I know now. Contrary to what
is presented in the media as truth, "eat less, move more" does not
always translate to a body that is lean, toned and healthy. There
are other important variables that need to be in place to not only
lower pounds on the scale, but actually reduce body fat permanently,
leading to a fit and healthy body.
At the Body Works Studio
we utilize a concept which is, interestingly enough, called
Synergy. Synergy, in relation to fitness, is the application of
three principles applied consistently on an ongoing basis. These 3
principles are: 'supportive nutrition', moderate aerobic exercise,
as well as a concern for muscle. All three of these elements must be
considered to transform your body into one that is more streamlined,
athletic and healthy. If a current workout program fails to address
even one of these principles, the results may fall short of what you
wanted to achieve.
A Toned Body Needs Synergy! Remember
. . . it is always the combination of principles that work
together harmoniously which will yield optimal results. Moderate
aerobic exercise burns body fat, strength training builds lean
muscle, and supportive nutrition fuels the body and boosts
metabolism.
Allow us to educate you! Why not make a
worthwhile investment in yourself and take a fresh approach to
getting fit and healthy. The big revelation that you may find in
2008 is: You may never need another Fitness Resolution! Utilize a
fresh, new approach, and I promise you this same time next year,
your body will be in peak condition. Make a commitment to 'get
educated' at the Body Works Studio; you owe it to yourself.By Karen Webster |
